Greetings from Global Leadership English Challenge (GLEC) Vietnam Secretariat!
Thank you very much for your support and interest in the largest and premier UN-related youth English competition. On behalf of Hope to the Future Association, it will be our pleasure to have your students as competent participants to listen to their voice towards the UN agenda and the related target points, as a civil society organization representative at the United Nations Department of Global Communications.
For GLEC Vietnam 2021, the final winners are invited to participate in the GLEC Global Conference, Training Program on the United Nations, Yale University Model United Nations and UN SDG Book Club Intensive Reading Study, or other gift-boxes. Through these events, winners will have the opportunity to learn from UN high officials, Scholars, Ambassadors, and International Organization Experts, expecting to create a synergy between the professionals and the youth from Vietnam, China, Japan, and Korea and other countries in the world.
This year, which is proven to be a challenging year in many aspects due to the worldwide pandemic, the GLEC Vietnam Secretariat decided to suggest your institution to nominate some qualified students. Each institution can nominate a maximum of 15 students, and each student will be provided benefits listed below as a recommendee.
Student Nominees will:
1) Be waived a preliminary round registration fee of $20.(FREE WITH HOUer)
2) Pass the preliminary round without submitting the file (essay/voice recording) being regarded as a well-qualified student recommended from the institution. (Speech sector participants should submit their script contents prior to the final round regardless of nomination.)
After a long discussion on the detailed procedures for student nominations provided that all Vietnamese are experiencing strong restrictions, we ended up with a positive conclusion to replace the individual recommendation letter with an official nomination request from the instructor.
